Stop Smoking

Although it is common knowledge that smoking can seriously damage your health, many people go on doing it. For many years already campaigns have been waged to inform people of the hazards of smoking, to try to prevent them from starting to smoke or to urge them to quit and there has been done a lot of research on the effects of nicotin. Not only smoking yourself is bad, you can also experience damage when you are in one room together with smokers, by inhaling their smoke.
On all packets of cigarettes, cigars or tobacco you buy, the message: SMOKING CAN SERIOUSLY DAMAGE YOUR HEALTH is printed in capital letters. Annually many people over the whole world die of cancer of the lungs. Also your brain can be affected. Lack of oxygen causes them gradually to dysfunction.
Yes, we all know this, but ... to stop smoking is very difficult.
Most children don’t smoke until they are about twelve years old and go to a secondary school. Then someone urges them to try one cigarette and although the first one tastes horribly bad, many children can’t resist the group’s pressure, they smoke one after another to try to get accustomed to it and before they are even aware of it, they have become SMOKE ADDICTS.

Some children also see their parents smoke. These parents give a very bad example!
Parents should discuss the dangers of smoking with their children. Every cigarette leaves you with an empty feeling and a craving for another one.You are addicted before you know it, even if you only smoke two cigarettes a day.

Nowadays smoking is prohibited by law in all public buildings. That’s quite a relief for the non-smoker. It saves him or her from unvoluntary inhaling other people’s smoke but does it do anything for the smokers? On the contrary, they go outside and smoke their cigarette there. Have they lost the will-power to protect their health? And it’s not only that, think of the amount of money you save by not smoking and think of the many luxuries you will be able to afford then.
Come on everybody, stop smoking. Not gradually by smoking less, but completely and at once.
It’s of vital importance to your own health and that of other people.
