TAKING MONEY
OUT SAFELY
In the Netherlands
there are over 7500 cash dispensers where you can take out money.
They can mostly be found outside post offices and banks. In order to make
these cash dispensers even more safe they have recently been fitted with
protective coverings round the card slot. These make it impossible to
copy the magnetic strip of your bank card. Often there is camera protection
as well.
This is what you can
do yourself to protect your bank card:
1. Do not tell your PIN-code to anybody
2. Keep your bank card separated from your PIN (better not write down
your code at all).
3. Always keep your bank card in a safe place.
4. Always put your card in the machine yourself, also in shops.
5. Block your card immediately in case of loss or theft. Banks do not
repay if somebody else takes money out of your account.
Below are listed the
numbers you can call when your card has been stolen.
These numbers can be reached day and night.
As soon as you call, your card is blocked and nobody can take out money
(not even yourself).
